The church that Jesus comes back for will be a multiethnic body of believers from every tribe and tongue around the world. In response to receiving the gospel, we can reorient our lives to be hospitable, pursue relationships with people who are different from us, and worship in new and beautiful ways.
This week we begin two significant themes as we come to the end of 2020: Advent and the Practice of Worship. As we enter 2021, we want to anticipate the hope we have in Christ and respond to the events of 2020, hard as they were, with the practice of grateful worship. As a churchwide expression, we will be modeling our worship with the vision in Revelation 7:9-1.
“…behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
As our churchwide practice this week, we want you as an individual, family, or group to worship with music from all different countries and get a preview of heaven– praising God with brothers and sisters from “every tribe and every tongue.”
Together as a church, we would like to designate Thursday, December 3 as the day we express our worship with other peoples and languages together as one church.
