Potential East Site Land Partnership

Exploring the possibility of partnering with the city of New Haven for a sports complex.

The City of New Haven has approached Grace Gathering about purchasing a significant portion of our land to build a community sports complex for the city and region.

Mayor Steve McMichael and his staff have developed a vision and initial proposal for how they would to use the land, and how this endeavor could be in partnership with Grace Gathering as we work together to bless our community. In March, Mayor McMichael gave a presentation and Q&A for East site members to attend.

Survey Questions:

  1. Overall, how would you rate your thoughts on this partnership possibility with the city on a sports complex? Choose one:
I am in favor. I am unsure. I am not in favor.
  2. What concerns or questions do you have?
  3. What excites you about this opportunity?
  4. What are ways that you could envision this complex connecting to our overall vision and mission as a church?
  5. If this were to happen and there were proceeds of a land sale or a long-term lease, what uses of that money do you think could bring the greatest kingdom impact for any of our sites, our community, or even in the area of missions?
  6. If there are reasons this does not work, or you think there are better ways of utilizing this land other than a sports complex partnered with the city, how would you like to see the land utilized?
