Youth  |  Grace Gathering New Haven

Equipping communities of teens to live and lead like Jesus.

High School

MOMENTUM.

Momentum is our high school youth gathering that meets Sunday nights from 6:00-8:30p in New Haven. Each week, students gather for pizza, community, worship, teaching, and small group huddles. Our number one goal: that students encounter God and respond to what He is saying.

High school is full of pressures as kids prepare for their future. We believe the best way to prepare for what’s next is to train them to hear God’s voice and step forward in faith boldly. And it’s super important they learn to do this together.

Ultimately, we want to see the fullness of God’s kingdom experienced in our high schools and in the lives of our teenagers in the greater Fort Wayne area.

Middle School

SHIFT.

Shift is our middle school youth gathering that meets Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:30p in New Haven throughout the school year. Each week, students gather for pizza, games, worship, teaching, and small group huddles. We focus on developing kids to live and lead like Jesus, and we have a TON OF FUN doing it. (Did we say pizza?!)

Middle school can be a crazy time for young people. We totally get it, and we want every middle schooler to know God’s love for them, experience positive community, and influence their friends for Jesus.

Ultimately, we want to see the fullness of God’s kingdom experienced in our middle schools and in the lives of our teenagers in the greater Fort Wayne area.

Youth Missional Communities

TARGETS.

A Target is a youth missional community, and we have several across the greater Fort Wayne area. Each Target is a group of students and adults who see themselves as a family, who have a predictable pattern of meeting each week, and who are missionally-driven to reach other teens with the gospel.

Each week, they meet for a meal or snack, enjoy hanging out, and invite other students who are open to knowing more about Jesus. As Targets grow, their goal is to multiply into more missional communities.

Many of our Targets are student led. In 2017 we grew from 1 Target to 8 Targets and have seen many students come to faith in Jesus! For more information, you can email Brian Gerig at bgerig@gracegathering.com

There are few experiences like camp at Covenant College atop Lookout Mountain, GA. It is said that seven states are visible from Lookout Mountain, and you can clearly see the city of Chattanooga below. On any given morning in the summer you could wake up and actually be above the clouds. The campus environment helps students (and adults) fully focus on God and His Word. Worship is in the traditional chapel with massive stained glass windows and tall ceilings. Covenant College provides an experience like no other college campus.

Vision Video 2018 – Margo Kelly

By following Jesus together as a church family, we get to encourage one another and equip each other in multiple ways. See how Margo has been impacted by Sunday services and the Exploring Life on Mission class, an introduction to missional community.

Rylan Lochmueller’s Baptism

Rylan grew up believing in Christ, but a few unhealthy friendships in the 6th grade aided in distancing himself  from the Lord. However, Rylan would become close friends with believers over the next few years, and he decided to give his life to Christ after he attended church one Sunday…

FAQs for Parents

Will my son or daughter be welcomed?

Yes! We know that visiting a new group of people can be a little outside people’s comfort zone. We work hard at making sure your son or daughter feels welcomed by adults as well as other students.

What do you teach?

We meet students where they are and create space for them to meet God through worship, the Bible, and each other. Because Jesus asked us to disciple others, we place a high emphasis on knowing God’s voice and responding to what He is saying.  We use Jesus’ life as an example and train teens to live and lead like him. At youth gatherings, we pattern each week to represent one of three aspects of Jesus’ life:  UP (worship), IN (serving), and OUT (evangelism).

Is it safe for my son/daughter to be a part of Grace Gathering Youth?

Absolutely! We interview and perform background checks for all of our leaders.  On youth trips, we have a 1 to 7, adult to teens ratio. We take seriously the responsibility of keeping our kids safe and reducing the risk of harm to your student.

Is there opportunity to fundraise for trips?

Yes! We work hard at making sure your son or daughter is able to go on our Summer trips and Winter Blast Weekend!  We try to keep costs as low as possible, but we realize that finances can be a burden, especially if you have more than one student involved. Each year there are opportunities for kids to fund-raise, do extra jobs for others at Grace Gathering, and qualify for scholarships for families with multiple students.

Please contact us! Don’t let cost keep your son/daughter from participating!
