All About Heaven
CHURCHWIDE
Most of us know heaven is important, but if we’re honest, it makes us nervous. We don’t really know what to expect when we die. And what is the difference between the “new heavens and the new earth” and today’s heaven?
All About Heaven is a teaching delivered by David Oliver, a pastor and author from the UK who partners with churches around the world to share the good news that the Bible teaches us about heaven. (And he just so happens to be friends with Andrew Booth!)
This will take place on Sunday, October 29 from 6-8, hosted in the Family Room at Grace Gathering East. Tickets are $10 for adults (with a $5 student discount), and free for teenagers.
You can get your tickets here!

Haiti Angel Tree
CHURCHWIDE
Last year, we started a new tradition of giving kids’ toys, school supplies, and essentials to the kids in the community of our Haitian church family. This year, we are doing it again, but with a new approach! In place of sending pre-packaged boxes, we will be giving the supplies to the church in Haiti so they can pack the boxes and distribute the gifts to kids in their community. It’s just one more way we can partner with our brothers and sisters in Haiti!
Here’s how we’ll do it:
- Christmas trees will be placed at each site beginning on October 15th and go until November 19th
- Each tree will have “ornaments” placed on them with items that you can donate or certain amounts of money to give
- All donations will be due that final Sunday, Nov. 19th.

Sports Complex Q&A
EAST
On Sunday, October 29 after service, you will have the chance to get informed about the prospective sports complex project on our land. We will also get to hear several updates from the developers (Andy Card and Billy Bunkowfst of Card & Associates), Mayor Steve McMichael, and a few of our Elders. Afterward, there will be a Q&A session where you can ask clarifying questions regarding the project.
New Grace Trunk & Treat: Candy Donations
NEW GRACE
New Grace is hosting Trunk & Treat on October 31st. This is a great opportunity to invite friends, family, and neighbors! Leading up to this event, we will need to collect wrapped candy that can be passed out. If you would like to donate candy, you can bring it in over the next few Sundays and drop it off in the designated bucket before or after service. We are also looking for volunteers to decorate their trunks and be on site handing out candy/drinks. Sign ups are at the back of the sanctuary!
East Trunk or Treat: Candy Donations
East
Join us for our 3rd annual Trunk or Treat! In partnership with Meadowbrook neighborhood association, we will be hosting a super fun Trunk or Treat on October 28th from 5-7pm. There will be candy, hot dogs, costumes, a costume contest, and balloon animals! If you have kids, bring them out to trick or treat. If you want to set up a trunk (or a table inside) we’d love to have you! You can sign up to volunteer here.
If you can’t make it but want to contribute, we ask that you donate a bag or two of candy on Sunday! We hope to see you there!
Trunk or Treat
North
On October 27th from 5-7PM, the Parkview Y is hosting a Trunk or Treat for the community! The Tennants and Kelpins will be hosting a trunk to let people know about our church and to support this event.
If you have small kids, this will be a lot of fun, plus it’s a great way to connect with people in our community!
Family + Friendsgiving Dessert Night
Churchwide Youth
Students grades 6-12 from all sites are invited to our first-ever Family + Friendsgiving Desserts Night on Sunday, November 5th, from 5-6:30p at New Grace.
Here’s what to bring:
- Your favorite Thanksgiving dessert to share — be it a pie, a muffin, a cake. Whatever you love, bring it on out!
- A friend—or two, or three, or more!
- At least one parent, family member, or caregiver.
We’ll eat desserts, play some games—including some light-hearted (maybe messy?) competitions between students and parents! During this time, parents will have 20-30 minutes to hear from site-specific and church-wide leaders about where we’re headed in youth ministry — and for parents to share how we can best partner with you in this season!
Registering ahead of time will tell us how many plates, cups, and beverages we need to provide. Even a ballpark number helps us prepare! Church-wide youth events rotate host sites — this event is hosted at New Grace! Let us know you’re coming!
Hosting PrayerWorks
East
We are hosting PrayerWorks on November 7 from 3-10pm! Sign up to host here.
Chili Cookoff & Cornhole Tournament
East
This will be a super fun night of tasting chili entries and voting for a winning recipe. (You will need cash to place your votes for the chili entries you enjoy.)
You can also sign up to be part of a corn hole tournament for just $5/team.
Grace Gathering will be providing hotdogs and drinks, and there will be other fun activities to enjoy. All are welcome and we ask those not entering the Chili Cook-Off to bring a dessert to share.
Proceeds from the evening will go toward reaching out to the community through our Just Come Dinner in December.
